Place
_Place in the five themes of geography can be human or physical. Human places are man made, well known attractions that have earned their way in history, such as the Eiffel Tower. Physical places are natural attractions which are made by nature but have also contributed to society, such as Yellowstone National Park. Places help give a relative location.
In Vietnam their are many places, human and physical. One example for human places in Vietnam is the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, which is a temple founded in 1070 by emperor Ly Thanh Tong dedicated to the Chinese philosopher, Confucius. Half a dozen years later this temple was used to teach royalty and mandarin children. In contemporary times, this temple includes various gardens, pavilions, ponds, and much more. Another place is the Flag Tower of Hanoi; built in 1812 under the possession of Kinh Gia Long, a Vietnamese emperor, it is one of the few constructions in the Hanoi Citadel that have survived and are almost intact.
Some examples for physical places are the Fansipan Mountain, which is 10,312 feet tall and is the highest mountain in Vietnam, and Cat Tien National Park, which is one of the most important national parks in Vietnam, because it protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical rainforests left in Vietnam. Many other mountain ranges that are in Vietnam create the unique border and shape. The Mekong River is largest river in Vietnam; it supplies many fish that are harvested every year. All these places are an important part of Vietnam and its history.
